Hey Lovers
Welcome to the love club! Now, tell me your love story (give me all the juicy details). I want to turn your story into a million (or maybe more like 600) photos and moments. I want your grandkids and your grandma to hang these photos up and shed one single tear every time they look at them.
What Do I Offer?
Wedding photography (film and digital). Whether you are eloping or having 200 guest - let’s chat about your vision and if we are a good fit! I also offer couples sessions - engagement or anniversary or if you are just wanting to do a creative lifestyle shoot to capture your love. I’m ya girl!
Values
How did I get so lucky? My younger self would die if I told her instead of being a marine biologist you are going to be a wedding photographer lol. On top of all this, I get to shoot most (if not all) weddings with my partner (as in ROMANTIC partner) Taylor - and together we make the dream team. OH and just to make it crystal clear: we celebrate LGBTQIA and polyamorous unities, people of every size, religion, ethnicity, ability or disability, and those who don’t conform to tradition or expectations. We also have a vendor list of others who share the same values. LET’S GO!!!
PS. If you are BIPOC and live in Denver I am offering free headshots. And discounts on other sessions!

One of the most common questions I get as a wedding photographer is: “How many hours of photography do we actually need?” It’s a great question—and the answer depends on your plans, your priorities, and a few logistics. Let’s break it down so you can figure out the perfect amount of coverage without overbooking (or missing anything important).
As a queer‑owned wedding photography business here in Denver, I’m committed to making sure every couple I work with feels not just tolerated, but celebrated.
If you’re a business owner, artist, coach, creative, or anyone trying to show up online in a more intentional way — a branding session is one of the smartest moves you can make. It’s not just about a good headshot (though we’ll get that too); it’s about capturing the you behind the brand.
Planning a wedding comes with a lot of sticker shock moments — florals, rentals, postage stamps (why so expensive?!), and yes… photography.
Nestled within ten acres of serene woodlands in Evergreen, Colorado, Juniper Mountain House offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern mountain elegance, for your intimate Colorado wedding or elopement. Finding the right photographer was one of my top priorities for our wedding. I wanted photos that were creative and unique but at the same time weren’t too “try hard.” Kate’s photos are the perfect sweet spot – they are artsy but not overly edited, and she made sure to get some traditional portrait shots for our parents and family. My husband and I are both a little shy and were nervous about being awkward in photos, but Kate and her partner, Taylor, made us feel totally comfortable and provided a lot of direction. The photos turned out stunning - they capture all the emotions from the day and really reflect the cozy, rustic, winter vibe we were going for. Family and friends have said we look like models (which we definitely are not) and that the photos look straight out of a magazine!
Kate is the kindest and most amazing photographer I have ever worked with. I wanted someone who could go with the flow and deliver beautiful, tasteful and unique wedding photos. She did that and more!
I wish I could give Kate 10 stars. She made our elopement so special; she’s so talented and overall just a pleasure to be around. She really knew the area where we had our private ceremony and knew exactly how to use the light and different landscapes for lots of variety.
Our wedding photos are absolutely breathtaking. They look straight out of a magazine! She perfectly captured the amazing lighting, my beautiful family and friends, and most importantly, the outpouring of love between my husband and I on our big day. I cannot recommend Kate Ivy Photography enough!!!
Hiring Kate as our photographer was hands down the BEST decision we made while planning our wedding! We felt so comfortable with her and she made the whole process so easy and fun. Neither my wife or I are used to being in front of a camera, but Kate made us feel so relaxed and captured our moments so perfectly.
Once my fiancée, now wife, and I decided on a location for our private elopement, we began the search for photographers. We not only wanted someone who was familiar with the area, but also someone who shared the same values as us. I thank Instagram every day for leading me to Kate’s page.
I cannot recommend Kate Ivy enough... You will not be disappointed picking Kate (and her partner, Taylor) to capture your wedding day and all the joyous emotions that come with it!
Wedding photos are essentially the only tangible artifacts you have after your big day, so when you hire a photographer, you are trusting them to capture your day in a way that will forever remind you of its magic and joy. Kate and Taylor did this and more. I was in tears when we received our sneak-peek photos because not only are they whimsical, magical, joyful, and romantic, but they are authentic, and they are us.
So you’re eloping! First of all—hell yes. Whether it’s just the two of you or a handful of your favorite people, an elopement is all about stripping away the fluff and focusing on what matters most: your connection, your vows, and a celebration that actually feels like you.
